But more literally, it is a set of criteria that a textile can meet and be certified for that says it was manufactured with the lowest possible burden on the environment

In outdoor gear, bluesign® approval is typical used to certify apparel, but can pertain to tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, any item in which fabric is used.

Manufacturers can earn bluesign® approval by following a restricted substances list, and agreeing to supply chain tracing parameters. Combined, these efforts create accountability and prevent chemicals from landing in our wastewaters.
